Basic and Specialized Education |
All students take common basic subjects in natural sciences,
called specialist basic subjects, in Year 1. This is combined
with general subjects, foreign languages, and other common subjects
outside natural sciences that reinforce basic knowledge in a
wide range of fields. When proceeding to Year 2, each student
chooses mathematics, physics, chemistry, or geoscience as the
field of major. Lectures will now focus on this field, particularly
on the basic knowledge required for future research activities.
In Year 3, lectures will become more specialized. You can also
take subjects from other fields of major to expand your knowledge. |
Freshmen Seminars |
The Freshmen Seminars are a required subject for all Year 1
students at the University of Tsukuba. The College of Natural
Science will have eight classes of 30 students each year, with
classroom teachers advising new students on the new life at university
and how to plan studies |
